MAC
MAC plays host to the volleyball team as well as the men’s and women’s basketball teams. The court, known as The Den, is one of the loudest venues in the conference and gives the WildCats a supreme home court advantage.
The building is home to a five-lane pool as well as a weight and fitness center, locker rooms, dance facilities, aerobics room, athletic training facilities as well as athletic and administrative support offices. The fitness center underwent a transformation in the summer of 2012 to better equip the needs of the Randolph student.
The MAC, or Physical Education and Recreation (PER) Building as it was formally known, has been the home of indoor sports at Randolph and Randolph-Macon Woman's College since 1960. The locker rooms and many facilities within the building were renovated in 2007, while The Den has been given a face lift as well.
In the recent years, The Den has seen padding placed on all four walls surrounding the floor, helping with player safety. Banners were hung of all of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference schools, along with the ODAC and NCAA seals, and a brand new sound system was installed in 2012. Also, new backboards and electric winches were added in March of 2013. Most recently in the summer of 2013, the floor was stripped down and redone with a two-color wood finish, providing the WildCats with one of the sharpest floors in the state.
